Spring Wanderlust

23 Mar

At this point in the semester, it’s hard not to daydream. Classes are going well and keeping me crazy busy, so in those spare free moments I have strong urge to jet set to somewhere awesome. All the work will be worth it soon, but in the mean time here are some of the places that have been keeping me sane.

Happy Saturday!

9 Aug

Hi all!

It’s been a crazy whirl wind lately. I just got back from a trip to Quebec and Montreal. We went for a wedding, but it was really great to be able to check out new cities and get a feel for the area. Both of which are great. They have nice restaurants and cool shopping, but we found we just liked hanging out and seeing where we ended up, which served us well. We had so much fun. So, I thought I’d share some pictures.

I also head out for Indiana this week. So nervous and excited. I can’t really tell which side is winning. lol. But it’ll be a new adventure!

Happy Thursday!

Wedding Weekend!

5 May

I’ve had a wonderful time the past two weeks. I was able to visit a lot of family and check in with a whole bunch of my college friends. It was so great and really hard to say goodbye to everyone.

I was fortunate enough to be included in the bridal party for the wedding weekend, granted there were 16 bridesmaids! (I know, I can practically feel a whole bunch of eyebrows raised.) But hear me out, it really worked. We were an extremely close knit group while in school and the bride did not want to have to choose. We all wore any black dress we wanted and choose to wear dark purple heels to tie in with her wedding colors.

The only bad part was I came down with bronchitis while away. I felt like hell, but still had a fantastic time and that says a lot :)

Miccosukee Arts Festival

2 Jan

Happy New Year! Unfortunately, any celebration was cut a bit short due to a massive migraine on my part and my brother being way under the weather too- he sounds like a barking dog. But we persevered, had a delicious dinner and am feeling much better today.

All the better to share my little travel excursion with you. I’d been hearing about the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida Arts Festival for a couple weeks and thought it would be fun. So, Nicole and I got our coffee and set off for Miami-ish. A few missed exits and turnarounds later (ahem) a lot later, we arrived at the reservation.

There was dancing, alligators, shows, crafts and a very rich culture present.

Even though it was far away and kinda hard to find, I had a great time. It was fun to try something different. Hopefully this will a common occurrence in 2012. I’m always up for somethin’ new!
